Mayweather confirms an exhibition bout against Logan Paul

On Tuesday, former world welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather announced he'll be fighting YouTube celebrity Logan Paul. The exhibition match is set for June 6 at Miami's Hard Rock Stadium, ensuring it doesn't conflict with the Triller event on June 5.

Taking to Instagram, Mayweather confirmed the venue as Hard Rock Stadium and explained that the event is being co-organized by Showtime, Fanmio, and Mayweather Promotions.

In a separate post, Mayweather Promotions described the clash as a historic crossover encounter, giving the event the title “Bragging Rights.”

The announcement didn't include the technical specifics of the fight, leaving questions unanswered regarding the glove size and the total number of rounds.

Logan Paul, currently 26, got his start in white-collar boxing in 2018 during a high-profile fight with British YouTuber KSI. That match was a massive hit with 1.3 million PPV purchases globally, leading to a 2019 rematch in LA.

Mayweather's last major fight was a 2017 cross-sport showdown in Las Vegas, where he defeated Conor McGregor via TKO. That match marked a brief return from retirement. Throughout his primary career, Mayweather was legendary for his undefeated 50-0 streak and 27 KOs over three decades. While his last official title fight was in 2015, he has since pivoted to exhibitions, including a 2018 match against Tenshin Nasukawa.

Because this is an exhibition, Mayweather's perfect record isn't at risk. His longtime manager, Leonard Ellerbe, suggested that this event will be entirely different from anything the boxer has done before. His team views this as a significant crossover moment, acknowledging Logan Paul's massive reach. This will mark the third such crossover event for the legend.

Logan isn't the only one in his family boxing; his 24-year-old brother Jake recently won a fight against former MMA fighter Ben Askren. Logan is also widely recognized for hosting the 'Impaulsive' podcast.
