Head coach Ravi Shastri has lashed out at the critics after Team India lost the Test series in England. The disappointment peaked after a 60-run loss in the fourth Test, which sealed a 1-3 series defeat with one match remaining. Former greats Sunil Gavaskar, Sourav Ganguly, and Virender Sehwag were quick to criticize the batting lineup. Ganguly specifically targeted the coaching staff, questioning the effectiveness of Ravi Shastri and Sanjay Bangar in addressing the consistent failure of the top-order batsmen. This wave of criticism eventually led Shastri to issue a public response this Wednesday.

Shastri defended his players, stating that the team gave their absolute best despite England's dominance in key moments. He highlighted India's impressive track record over the past three years, noting nine Test wins on foreign soil and series wins over the West Indies and Sri Lanka. According to Shastri, these achievements surpass anything the national team managed in the previous 15 to 20 years, regardless of the legendary players involved, proving that the current team is objectively stronger than its predecessors.
