Following India's 203-run triumph in the third Test, the selectors have decided to drop opener Murali Vijay and spinner Kuldeep Yadav from the squad for the final two matches of the series.

The selectors have replaced Vijay and Kuldeep with youthful energy, bringing in opening batsman Prithvi Shaw and middle-order batsman Hanuma Vihari from Andhra Pradesh. Murali Vijay's lack of impact in the opening two Tests led to his exclusion, and he had already been left out of the playing XI for the third Test.

Kuldeep was dropped to allow for more batting depth, as the fast-bowling conditions in England made a third specialist spinner redundant. Although he featured in the second Test, he barely got a chance to bowl.

Squad for the final two Tests: Virat Kohli (C), Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Prithvi Shaw, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Karun Nair, Dinesh Karthik, Rishabh Pant, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Shardul Thakur, and Hanuma Vihari.
