The JSCA has announced that 5,000 tickets will be provided free of charge to military and security personnel for Saturday's third Test between India and South Africa.
The Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) has declared 5000 free tickets for men in uniform for the third Test among India and South Africa on Saturday.
According to JSCA secretary Sanjay Sahay, approximately five thousand seats have been earmarked for Army members, CRPF jawans, and NCC cadets as a tribute to their service. The association has also extended this generosity by providing tickets to students in several districts.
This isn't the first time Indian cricket has paid homage to the military in Ranchi. Earlier in February, the team wore camouflage caps to honor those lost in the Pulwama terror attacks. Adding to the spirit of the 3rd Test, former captain MS Dhoni will be in the stands with Army personnel to support the national team.
The South African team experienced some confusion upon arriving in the city. Reportedly, a transportation error led the players to the wrong location, forcing them to move to a different hotel. Consequently, the BCCI arranged for the South African team to stay in a separate hotel roughly 13 km away from the stadium, rather than at the same venue as the Indian squad.
A JSCA official noted that while the arrangements for this were made a year in advance, the actual booking process was handled directly by the Board rather than the association.
