Following the BCCI's announcement of a revised home season schedule, the first T20I between India and Bangladesh on December 6 has been moved from Dharamsala to Gwalior. The home season starts on September 19 with two Tests against Bangladesh. While the venues for the Tests against Bangladesh and New Zealand remain the same, a few adjustments were made to the white-ball matches against Bangladesh and England.
The first T20I between India and Bangladesh, scheduled to take place on December 6 at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamsala, has been moved to Gwalior after the BCCI announced a revised schedule for India’s home seasons, which begin with a two-match Test series against Bangladesh on September 19. The venues for the two Tests against Bangladesh and three Tests against New Zealand remained unchanged, while several white-ball fixtures against Bangladesh and England were tweaked slightly.
According to a BCCI press release, the opening T20I between India and Bangladesh, originally planned for October 6, 2024, in Dharamsala, will now be played in Gwalior due to ongoing renovation work on the dressing rooms at the HPCA stadium.
Gwalior's Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium is set to host its first international match since 2010, when Sachin Tendulkar made history by scoring the first double century in men's ODI cricket. Along with this, the board has swapped the host cities for the first and second T20Is against England.
The Board further announces a swap in the venues of the first and second T20Is against England.
The first T20I will now be held in Kolkata instead of Chennai, and the second will move to Chennai, though the dates (January 22 and 25, 2025) remain unchanged. This switch was made after the Kolkata Police informed the Cricket Association of Bengal about security commitments related to Republic Day.
