To qualify for the IPL title sponsorship EOI, the BCCI requires companies to have an annual turnover exceeding 300 crore

The title sponsorship for the 2020 IPL is available for a short term, specifically from August 18 through December 31, 2020. Previously, the Chinese brand Vivo held the rights under a 2018 agreement valued at 440 crore per year for five seasons. However, because of the ongoing border disputes between India and China, the BCCI has put that partnership on hold for this year.

The tender for this year's IPL title sponsor was officially released by the BCCI on Monday. According to Secretary Jha, there is a 13-point regulatory framework that all interested parties must follow during the bidding process. Bids must be submitted by August 14, and the winning party will be announced on August 18. Additionally, Jha mentioned that comprehensive details about the rights and available product categories will be provided exclusively to eligible applicants who submit an EOI.

Secretary Jha emphasized that the BCCI isn't simply looking for the highest bidder during the early stages. The selection process will take into account several factors, specifically focusing on how the sponsor intends to use the rights to avoid anything that could damage the IPL's brand image. In terms of eligibility, the BCCI has stipulated that any party submitting an EOI for the 2020 title sponsorship must demonstrate a turnover of more than 300 crore in their most recent audited financial statements.
