Bhuvneshwar Kumar and wife isolate following appearance of COVID-19 symptoms

Following the onset of COVID-19 symptoms, Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar and his wife, Nupur Nagar, have gone into self-isolation at their home in Meerut and are awaiting test results.
The Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar and his wife, Nupur Nagar, are reported to have been kept in isolation at their home in Meerut following symptoms of the covid-19. Tests are conducted on their samples.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar's family has been under immense stress lately, especially after his mother, Indresh Singh, had to be hospitalized with a viral illness earlier this week.

The couple is currently being treated at home while they wait for the official results of their COVID tests.

On May 21, Bhuvneshwar's mother tested positive for the virus, although the rest of the family members tested negative after being screened.

The family's grief was already deep following the death of Bhuvneshwar's father, Kiran Pal Singh, in May. He had been a sub-inspector in the Uttar Pradesh police before retiring and had fought a lengthy battle with liver cancer.

Despite being recognized as one of the finest swing bowlers in India and featuring in the 2021 IPL and white-ball squads, Bhuvneshwar was omitted from the England tour for the WTC final against New Zealand and the August series.

Rumors have circulated suggesting that Bhuvneshwar has lost interest in the Test format, but the cricketer himself has dismissed these claims as untrue.

Taking to Twitter to clear the air, he stated: “There have been articles about me not wanting to play Test cricket. Just to clarify, I have always prepared myself for all three formats irrespective of the team selection and will continue to do the same.”
