CSK cruises to a flawless win against Kings XI Punjab, remaining unbeaten throughout the chase

CSK bounced back in style after suffering three consecutive losses. By defeating Kings XI Punjab by ten wickets on Sunday, they earned their second victory in five games and moved up to 6th place. The win was fueled by an incredible opening partnership between Shane Watson (83*) and Du Plessis (87*), who remained unbeaten throughout their 181-run stand.

Despite Punjab posting a competitive 178/4 in their full 20 overs, Watson and Du Plessis approached the chase with total dominance. They reached the target in 17.4 overs without losing a single partner, making them the first team to successfully chase a score in Dubai this season.

The opening stand between Watson and Du Plessis was the fourth-largest of the tournament. More impressively, their 181-run effort broke the long-standing record of 159 runs established by Murali Vijay and Mike Hussey during a 2011 match against Bangalore.

Punjab's innings began well, with Rahul and Mayank Agarwal (26) putting on 61 runs before Piyush Chawla broke the partnership by dismissing Agarwal. Later, in the 12th over, Jadeja got rid of Mandeep (27). Rahul managed to hit a six to complete his second half-century of the season, and he later shared a 58-run partnership with Puran. However, the rally ended abruptly in the 18th over when Shardul dismissed both Puran and Rahul on back-to-back deliveries.
