India completes a 3-0 T20I series whitewash after defeating New Zealand in the final match

With a 73-run win in the final game, India swept the T20I series 3-0. It was a comprehensive display of skill that outclassed the Blackcaps, reminiscent of India's 5-0 victory during their 2020 tour of New Zealand. India's batting depth showed through as the lower-middle order helped propel the score to 184/7.
India beat New Zealand by 73 runs to secure a 3-0 clean sweep in the T20I series. Men in Blue outplayed the blackcaps and registered another comprehensive victory. Earlier, India registered a 5-0 win over the Kiwis on their soil in January 2020. Indian lower-middle order batted well and helped their side to reach a strong total of 184/7.

New Zealand's pursuit of 185 ended abruptly as they were bowled out for 111. The star of the show was Axar Patel, who decimated the top three batsmen and ended with figures of 3/9. This early collapse left the Kiwis reeling, and they were unable to recover from the pressure.

Opting to bat first, India got off to a flyer thanks to Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan, who amassed 69 runs in the opening powerplay. The momentum shifted slightly when Mitchell Santner claimed two wickets, including an early exit for Suryakumar Yadav. Later, Shreyas Iyer (25) and Venkatesh Iyer (20) kept the scoreboard ticking during the middle phase of the innings.

Captain Rohit Sharma anchored the innings with a well-made 56, while Harshal Patel (18) and Deepak Chahar (21) added quick runs at the death to strengthen the total. When it was New Zealand's turn to bat, Axar Patel struck again, removing Daryl Mitchell (5) and Mark Chapman (0) in the third over. He followed this up by dismissing Glenn Phillips for a duck in his next over, effectively ending any hopes of a comeback.

Despite the team's struggle, Martin Guptill continued his strong series form with a rapid 51. However, the rest of the lineup failed to build partnerships, with several batsmen falling for single digits. India's bowling attack remained disciplined, taking wickets consistently; Harshal Patel claimed two, while Chahar, Chahal, and Venkatesh took one each.
