After opting to bat first on a slow pitch, India put up a powerful performance. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav all hit impressive half-centuries, scoring 53, 62*, and 51* respectively. The only disappointment was KL Rahul, who failed to make an impact with a meager 9 runs.

Kohli was instrumental in building the score, sharing a 73-run partnership with Rohit and an unbeaten 95 with Suryakumar.
