KKR defeated Mumbai Indians by 34 runs, scoring 232/2 (Russell 80*, Gill 76, Lynn 54) against MI's 198/7 (Hardik 91; Russell 2-25, Gurney 2-37, Narine 2-44).

By dominating the Mumbai Indians, Shubman Gill and Andre Russell helped the Kolkata Knight Riders end a six-game slump and celebrate their milestone 100th win in the IPL.

A powerhouse effort from Gill and Russell, featuring 12 fours and 12 sixes between them, propelled KKR to the season's top team score, supported by a rapid 54 from Chris Lynn.

Mumbai's bowling attack struggled as Malinga and Bumrah went wicketless while giving up 92 runs. KKR took full advantage, including a late-game surge of 75 runs in the final five overs, with even the frugal Krunal Pandya conceding 9 runs per over.

Mumbai's chase of 233 got off to a disastrous start, losing both Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock in the first four overs, and slipping to four wickets down by the end of the ninth.

Despite Hardik Pandya hitting the fastest fifty of the tournament in 17 balls, he lacked the support needed to maintain a required rate of 16 per over. This led to Mumbai's first defeat against KKR in several years. Hardik's impressive 91 off 34 balls prevented a complete collapse, though it wasn't enough to secure a win.
