Known affectionately as Yuvi, Yuvraj Singh was a key all-rounder for India. Over the course of 541 matches, he played under the leadership of various captains, most notably Sourav Ganguly, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Rahul Dravid, Virender Sehwag, and Gautam Gambhir.
Of all the captains he served under, Yuvraj played the most matches with Sourav Ganguly, surpassing his time with Dhoni and Kohli. His international career started in 2000 under Ganguly's captaincy, totaling 110 ODIs. He also played 104 matches under MS Dhoni. Singh mentioned that while choosing between Ganguly and Dhoni is a tough call, he felt a stronger sense of support coming from Ganguly than from Dhoni or Kohli.
Singh also suggested that the Indian team needs a specialized mental coach, citing Patrick 'Paddy' Upton as a great example. He believes that what happens in a player's private life inevitably spills over into their performance on the pitch. By having someone to talk to about life's pressures and the psychological burden of failure, Yuvraj believes cricketers could significantly elevate their game.
