Australia secured a 146-run win over India during the second Test in Perth. Coming off a strong bowling performance in Adelaide, India was the team to beat heading into this match. Even with the anticipation of a bouncy, green track, prominent pundits including Sunil Gavaskar, M. Howard, and M. Vaughn backed the Indian squad. To cover for injuries, Captain Virat Kohli integrated Umesh Yadav and Hanuma Vihari into the playing XI.
