India will take on England in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup at the Adelaide Oval today, starting at 1:30 pm. In a pre-match press conference on Wednesday, India skipper Rohit Sharma was questioned about Rishabh Pant’s return to the playing XI just before the World Cup semi-final. Pant had a forgetful outing against Zimbabwe as the left-handed batter was dismissed for just 3.

According to Rohit, Pant has been the only member of the squad without competitive game time this tournament, aside from two friendly matches in Perth. The captain explained that since those practice games, Pant hasn't had the chance to get into a flow, which is why the coaching staff wanted to be cautious and evaluate their best options.

Rohit mentioned that it's crucial for the team to maintain the flexibility to make tactical changes during the knockout stages. He further noted that all players were briefed from the start to remain match-ready, ensuring they can perform their best whether it's a league game, a semi-final, or the championship match.

Rohit noted that he wanted Pant to get some experience facing the English spinners who typically dominate the middle overs. While he stopped short of naming the final XI, he confirmed that both wicket-keepers will definitely be involved in the game plan.
