Rohit Sharma provides an update on the status of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Harshal Patel

India's pace battery has struggled to create breakthroughs or contain runs during the death overs. During the latest T20I series against Australia, both Harshal Patel and the veteran Bhuvneshwar Kumar failed to hit their mark, conceding costly runs in the closing stages. During a press briefing, Rohit Sharma highlighted that both bowlers remain integral to the playing XI. He specifically mentioned that Harshal's two-month absence due to injury has made his transition back to competitive cricket quite difficult.

Rohit emphasized that it's rare for a bowler to return from an injury and immediately perform at their best. He noted that Harshal, who is no stranger to bowling difficult overs, is actively working to correct his recent mistakes. According to the captain, the right-handed bowler is training hard and is nearly back to his top form.

Regarding Bhuvneshwar, Rohit suggested that the team management should give him the necessary room and support. He pointed out that bowling at the end of an innings is one of the hardest tasks in the game and that bad patches happen to everyone. He reminded the press that, historically, Bhuvneshwar has consistently delivered high-quality performances.

Rohit mentioned that the coaches are drafting new plans, and he hopes the management can provide the veteran pacer with better options during the death overs to help him regain his old rhythm. He concluded by stating that Bhuvneshwar's confidence remains intact and that a few poor outings don't diminish his inherent skill and quality as a bowler.
