Centuries from Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal ensured India stayed firmly in the driver's seat throughout Day 2

India continued their absolute dominance in the first Test, turning the match into a one-sided contest. Thanks to superb hundreds from the captain, Rohit Sharma, and newcomer Yashasvi Jaiswal, India established a strong lead of 162 runs against the West Indies at Windsor Park. The day ended with India at 312/2, with Jaiswal (143*) and Kohli (36*) still at the crease. For the West Indies bowlers, it was a frustrating day spent searching for wickets that simply didn't come.
Another day has been completely dominated by team India and it has been a one-sided affair so far in the First test match. Brilliant centuries from debutant Yashasvi Jaiswal and skipper Rohit Sharma have helped India to a take healthy 162 runs lead over the West Indies at Windsor Park. India finished Day 2 with a score of 312/2, Jaiswal (143*) and Virat Kohli (36*) remained unbeaten at the end of the day. It has been a tough day for the Windies bowlers as they struggled to pick up more wickets.

Maintaining the momentum from Day 1, Jaiswal and Rohit remained immovable at the crease, keeping the West Indian bowlers under constant pressure. Their partnership was a masterclass in batting, blending power with elegance to dismantle the attack. Jaiswal was particularly impressive; despite being just 21, he showed veteran-like maturity to blast a century in his Test debut.

By scoring a hundred in his first match, Jaiswal became only the third Indian opening batter to achieve this feat on debut. He and Rohit put on a record-breaking 229 runs for the first wicket, with the captain also contributing a classy century. This 10th Test ton for Rohit puts him in a rare club, making him the second Indian after Kohli to surpass 3500 runs across formats. However, the partnership finally ended when Alick Athanaze managed to dismiss Rohit for 103.

Shubman Gill didn't live up to the hype, falling cheaply for just 6 runs. While India only lost two wickets over the course of the day, the pitch in Dominica made it surprisingly difficult to keep the scoring rate high. Now, all eyes are on Jaiswal, as fans hope he can push for a double-century on Day 3 and make history.
