The 2019-2020 season consisted of 6 Test matches, 13 ODI series, and 25 T20 Internationals. While Virat Kohli led the rankings, Australia's Steve Smith held onto second place with 911 points. A newcomer to the top tier, Marnus Labuschagne, quickly ascended to the third position with 827 points.
Labuschagne's rise pushed several veterans down the rankings; Kane Williamson of New Zealand fell to fourth with 814 points, Cheteshwar Pujara dropped to sixth with 791, and Ajinkya Rahane slipped to ninth with 759. Conversely, David Warner improved his standing to fifth, thanks to a recent hundred against New Zealand.
Three Indian bowlers managed to keep their positions in the ICC rankings: Jasprit Bumrah remains 6th (794 points), Ravichandran Ashwin is 9th (772 points), and Mohammad Shami sits at 10th with 771 points.
Australian fast bowler Pat Cummins holds the top bowling spot with 914 points, and New Zealand's Neil Wagner stays in second with 852. Additionally, Jason Holder from the West Indies moved up to third place with 830 points, while Australia's Mitchell Starc is currently ranked fifth with 796 points.
