VVS Laxman thinks Suryakumar, Kishan, and Tewatia may miss out on playing time in the England T20I series

Ex-India batsman VVS Laxman has suggested that the likes of Rahul Tewatia, Ishan Kishan, and Suryakumar Yadav probably won't crack the starting XI for the T20I series against England. The action begins March 12, with the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad serving as the venue for the entire five-match series.
India’s former batsman VVS Laxman has given his opinion that Suryakumar Yadav, Rahul Tewatia and Ishan Kishan will most likely not feature in the playing eleven of the upcoming T20I series against England. With the first match set to start on March 12, all 5 T20I matches will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Suryakumar, Kishan, and Tewatia were recently named in India's 19-player T20 squad, earning their first international selections. Their dominant displays in the IPL and domestic cricket made them undeniable choices for the selectors.

With the T20 World Cup being hosted at home this year, India is actively experimenting with their roster to assemble the most competitive squad possible.

During a segment on Star Sports, VVS Laxman remarked that because India's batting core is so well-established, players like Tewatia, Kishan, and Suryakumar might not see the field at all. That said, he emphasized that their talent is undeniable and they would perform well if called upon. He also expressed a preference for a stable playing eleven, specifically recommending Shreyas Iyer for the number four position.

Laxman further suggested that Hardik Pandya and Rishabh Pant should handle the finishing duties in the middle order. Despite Pant's absence from T20Is since early 2020, Laxman remains convinced that the batsman's current form makes him a vital asset for the team.
