England kicked off their World Cup campaign in style as the three Lions thrashed Iran 6-2 in their Group B opener. England, one of the favorites to win the trophy, produced a scintillating performance to outclass Iran in their first encounter at the Khalifa International Stadium, in Doha. Thanks to Jude Bellingham, Raheem Sterling, Marcus Rashford, and Jack Grealish each scoring one goal while Bukayo Saka scored two goals for the English team. With both talent and speed, the English men put on a convincing show to register a dominant win.

Mehdi Taremi managed to score twice for Iran, but the team suffered a major blow early on. In the 19th minute, keeper Alireza Beiranvand clashed with his own teammate, Majid Hosseini. The impact was severe; Beiranvand collapsed shortly after and had to be stretchered off the field.

Right from the start, England played with high intensity, pressing forward and creating numerous scoring chances. Their persistence paid off in the 35th minute when Jude Bellingham leaped to head in his first goal for the senior national team, breaking Iran's defensive resolve.

Before the halftime whistle, Saka and Sterling scored in quick succession to put England firmly in control with a 3-0 lead. Saka's goal was a beauty, coming from a precise pass by Harry Maguire and finished with a clinical left-footed strike into the top corner. Just three minutes later, Bellingham regained possession and fed Harry Kane, who delivered a perfect cross for Sterling to slot home at the near post.

Following the interval, 21-year-old Bukayo Saka extended the lead to 4-0 with a moment of individual magic. Receiving the ball on the right side of the penalty area, he cut inside two defenders and fired a powerful shot past Hosseini. Iran responded shortly after with a consolation goal from Taremi.

England quickly restored their four-goal cushion when Marcus Rashford netted the fifth in the 71st minute. The scoring continued in the final moments as substitute Jack Grealish made his mark in the 90th minute, bringing the score to 6-1. Iran managed to claw back one more goal via a late penalty converted by Taremi, following a foul on Morteza Pouraliganji.

England is striving to claim its first major international title since winning the World Cup in 1966. Their journey in Group B continues with a match against the United States on November 25, followed by a final group game against Wales on November 29.
