Chelsea's fanbase reacted with a shared sense of disbelief to Sarri's comments about Kante.

During his first year leading Chelsea, Sarri found himself at the center of a storm over N'Golo Kante's ideal role. His confident but polarizing views on the matter deeply upset the fans, leading some to label him completely clueless.

There was a widespread, unified reaction from Chelsea supporters regarding Sarri's views on Kante, marking one of the most contentious tactical disputes of his first season at the club.

While the world generally views Kante as the premier defensive midfielder on the planet, Sarri's obsession with a high-passing game changed things. By bringing in Jorginho from Napoli, Sarri stubbornly pushed Kante further up the field. This strategic move confused analysts and drove fans crazy throughout the campaign, regardless of how hard Kante worked. This frustration boiled over after a 2-0 defeat to Manchester United in the FA Cup at home, following their clash in the EFL Cup final, prompting urgent questions about whether Sarri would change Kante's role.

These are something which has frustrated Chelsea fans of all season despite Kante’s best efforts and it’s also confused pundits.
At the end of Chelsea’s latest setback thanks to a 2-0 defeat at home to Manchester United in the FA Cup. They were ahead of the crucial EFL Cup final against Manchester United, Sarri was questioned about potential changes for Kante.

When asked about the French international's mindset and effectiveness, Sarri gave a curt explanation for why some might disagree with his vision. Speaking to the press on Wednesday, he admitted that while Kante is an immense asset to the team, he lacks the specific ability to move the ball quickly from deep, which is exactly what Sarri requires in that pivot role.
Sarri told the media on Wednesday that, “In that position, I want a player to be able to move the ball very fast. N’Golo is very valuable for us, but this one is not his best characteristic.”
