Real Madrid overcame an early deficit to claim a hard-fought win against Real Sociedad in La Liga.

Real Madrid secured a 2-1 comeback win against Real Sociedad this past Sunday, returning to the top of the La Liga table with their fifth straight victory. This win brings Ancelotti's men to 15 points, giving them a two-point lead over Barcelona, who had crushed Betis 5-0 on Saturday. The visitors started strong at the modern Santiago Bernabeu, scoring in the fifth minute when Kubo's elegant pass set up Barrenetxea. While Kepa Arrizabalaga managed the first attempt, he couldn't stop the second. Kubo almost added another with a superb strike, but the play was halted for offside.
Real Madrid came from behind to beat Real Sociedad 2-1 on Sunday, reclaiming the top spot in La Liga with its fifth win in a row. Carlo Ancelotti’s team extended their unbeaten league record to 15 points, two more than second-placed Barcelona, who thrashed Betis 5-0 on Saturday. After only five minutes at the new-look Santiago Bernabeu, the Basque visitors took the lead, as Kubo caressed a lovely pass into Barrenetxea’s path. Kepa Arrizabalaga saved his first attempt but was unable to claw out the second. Kubo then beat the custodian with a stunning strike, but it was called out for offside.

As the home side regained composure, Joselu rattled the crossbar from close range, and Dani Carvajal saw his effort saved by Alex Remiro. The turnaround began just seconds into the second half when Valverde fired a long-range shot off the post and into the net after a pass from Fran Garcia. Garcia proved to be the key playmaker, also crossing the ball for Joselu to nod in the second goal at the back post.

In the 60th minute, Joselu put the home team ahead with a brilliant header coming off a left-wing cross from Fran Garcia. To ensure the game remained under control, Ancelotti swapped the Spanish striker for Eduardo Camavinga. This move helped the hosts lock down the match, leaving the visitors unable to penetrate Madrid's defensive lines.

Following the victory, Joselu reflected on the match, noting that any team in the league is capable of causing trouble and admitting they needed to fix their defensive lapses after conceding so early. He credited the atmosphere at the Bernabeu and the support of the fans for helping them overturn the score. Joselu expressed his happiness in scoring goals that earn the team points, adding that the squad's quality and self-confidence allow them to consistently fight back from behind. Real Madrid now shifts its focus to the Champions League opener against Union Berlin on Wednesday, followed by a domestic league trip to face Atletico Madrid.

Elsewhere in Spanish football, Sergio Ramos made an emotional return to Sevilla for the first time since his 2005 departure. After joining from PSG this summer, the 37-year-old veteran started in a 1-0 victory over Las Palmas at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan. Despite the bitterness some fans felt when he left for Real Madrid nearly two decades ago, Ramos received a warm welcome from the crowd upon his return home.
