Jorge Mendes has shut down rumors regarding Cristiano Ronaldo making a comeback to his childhood club.

Following claims from his mother, Dolores Aveiro, that she would push for his return to Sporting CP, agent Jorge Mendes confirmed that Ronaldo is not planning a move back to Portugal this summer.

With only one year left on his Juventus contract, Ronaldo's next move is anyone's guess. While some suggest a nostalgic return to Sporting, the 36-year-old remains an attractive target for many top clubs, with potential reunions at Manchester United or Real Madrid frequently discussed.

Following Sporting's first league triumph since 2002 this past Tuesday, Dolores Aveiro publicly stated her intention to talk Ronaldo into returning to play at the Alvalade stadium next year.

Speaking to Record, Mendes noted that although Cristiano is publicly proud of Sporting's title win, a return to the Portuguese league is not part of his current career strategy.

Even though Ronaldo has been prolific in Serie A this season with 28 goals, Juventus's poor overall performance means they might not qualify for the Champions League next year.

Previously, Ronaldo's mother had suggested to the Sporting Lisbon faithful that her son would be returning to the club of his youth next season.

As reported by the DailyStar, Aveiro shouted from her balcony during the celebrations for Sporting's first league title in nearly two decades, insisting she would bring Cristiano back to play at Alvalade.

Ronaldo's journey away from Sporting began in 2003 when, at just 18, he moved to Manchester United after a standout performance in a friendly against them, launching one of the greatest careers in history.
