Arjun Deshwal's exceptional play was the catalyst for the Jaipur Pink Panthers' first win of Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 this past Monday. It was a tale of two halves at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium; the defending Season 9 champions were down 12-20 at the break but rallied to beat the Gujarat Giants 35-32. While the result doesn't knock the Giants off the top of the leaderboard (where they sit with 17 points), the Panthers have moved to seventh place with 9 points. Deshwal dominated the game with 15 points, marking his 700th raid point in the league.
Arjun Deshwal delivered a masterclass performance to assist the Jaipur Pink Panthers in earning their first win of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 10 on Monday. The Season 9 champions trailed 12-20 at the break but battled back in the second half to defeat Gujarat Giants 35-32 at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium. Although the Giants lost the match, still they are at the top of the points table with 17 points. Pink Panthers, on the other hand, are placed seventh with 9 points under their belt. Deshwal, who claimed 15 points in the game, also recorded his 700th PKL raid point.
The match opened with a tight struggle, and for the first seven minutes, neither side could pull away, leaving the score tied at 5-5. The deadlock was broken when Sonu executed a brilliant SUPER RAID, giving the Giants an 8-5 advantage. Gujarat didn't let up, quickly forcing an ALL-OUT in the 10th minute to further cement their lead.
With the momentum firmly on their side, the Giants continued to press. Sonu chipped away with raid points while Fazel Atrachali shut down V Ajith Kumar with a key tackle. This forced the Jaipur Pink Panthers into a cautious, defensive posture, and as the first half closed, Gujarat held a commanding 20-12 lead thanks to Sonu's consistent scoring.
Jaipur started the second half with a spark, managing to tackle Rohit Gulia early on, though they still trailed 20-14. Then Deshwal took over; he ignited the comeback in the 27th minute with a series of impressive raids that closed the gap. The 24-year-old then delivered a game-changing SUPER RAID, leaving the Giants with only one player on the mat. By the 31st minute, the Panthers flipped the script, tackling Vikash Jaglan to take a 26-25 lead. Deshwal capped off his night by scoring his 700th PKL raid point during a final push that secured a thrilling victory.
In another matchup later that day, the Bengaluru Bulls pulled off an upset, grinding out a 38–26 win against the UP Yoddhas. The home team's victory was powered by Vikash Khandola and Bharat, who contributed 11 points each. Despite a match-high 13 points from the Yoddhas' star Pradeep Narwal, it wasn't enough to save the game. This result leaves the Bulls in eighth place with one win and four losses, while the Yoddhas remain third with a record of two wins and two losses from four matches.
