After three successful seasons, the V-PBL is returning for its fourth edition with even more momentum. The league is a private entity operated by Sports & Live Private Limited (Sportslive). Originally launched in 2013 as the Indian Badminton League (IBL), it was rebranded as the Premier Badminton League ahead of its second season in 2016. The inaugural IBL tournament took place from August 14 to August 31, 2013, with the Hyderabad Hotshots defeating Mumbai in the final. In the second season, held from January 2 to 17, 2016, the Delhi Dashers (formerly the Delhi Aces) claimed the title by beating the Mumbai Rockets. The third season ran from December 22 to January 14, 2017, where the Hyderabad team, led by European and World champion Carolina Marin, emerged victorious. The fourth season is set to kick off on December 22, 2018.
