Mohammad Azharuddin has voiced his strong belief in Virat Kohli's capabilities during the ongoing India-Australia series. He suggested that reaching 100 international centuries isn't an impossible task for someone like Kohli. Azharuddin is convinced that if Virat continues to play with this level of intensity and remains injury-free, he will definitely hit that century mark. He pointed to Kohli's impressive 39th ton in the Adelaide ODI as a prime example of his skill. Although only the legendary Sachin Tendulkar has achieved 100 international hundreds so far, Azharuddin feels that the current Indian skipper is on the right path to matching that record if he stays fit.

Azharuddin pointed out that Kohli's consistency puts him leagues ahead of his peers. It's his distinct batting style and instinctive game-reading that make him such a unique player. Many fans and experts agree that whenever Kohli scores a century, India almost invariably wins the match. Alongside his admiration for Virat, Azharuddin also shared complimentary remarks regarding the performances of Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Dinesh Karthik.

Azharuddin also commented on the evolving nature of Indian cricket, noting that the team now possesses a formidable top order where three key batsmen often dominate the game and secure the win. Reflecting on a previous match, he mentioned that losing three early wickets due to a few lapses proved costly. Despite a century from Rohit Sharma, the match slipped away, which he described as a stroke of bad luck. He noted that while MS Dhoni appeared somewhat exhausted toward the end, he showed great resilience by staying at the crease, and Dinesh Karthik played a very impressive knock.

After winning the toss, Australia chose to bat first, posting a total of 298 for 9 in their 50 overs, bolstered by a brilliant 131 from Marsh. India responded strongly, clinching the victory with four balls to spare, thanks in large part to a flawless 104 from Virat Kohli. The series will now conclude with the final ODI on January 18 in Melbourne, a match that carries high expectations for all fans.
