Australia claimed a decisive win in the final match to avoid a total series washout against India

Australia snapped their losing run on Wednesday, securing a 66-run victory in the third ODI. Although India had already clinched the series by winning the first two encounters, Australia fought back in the finale. Defending a huge total of 353, the Australian bowlers were clinical, keeping the pressure on and bowling India out for 286 in 49.4 overs. This resulted in a 2-1 series win for India.
Australia ended their losing streak by defeating India by 66 runs in the third and final ODI on Wednesday. They did, however, lose the series, with India having won the first two one-day internationals. Defending a massive 353, the Aussie bowlers did a brilliant job to take wickets regularly and bowl out India to 286 in 49.4 overs. India, on the other hand, won the three-match ODI series 2-1.

Opting to bat first paid off for Australia, as David Warner and Mitchell Marsh got things moving with a 78-run opening partnership. Prasidh Krishna provided the necessary breakthrough by taking Warner's wicket for 56. However, the onslaught continued as Marsh and Steve Smith dominated the bowling attack, sharing a productive 137-run stand for the second wicket. Marsh played a stellar innings, though he missed a milestone century by just four runs, ending with 96.

The momentum shifted when Mohammed Siraj dismissed a well-set Steve Smith for 74. Marnus Labuschagne contributed a valuable 72 runs, but the batting order lacked further support as Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green failed to fire. Australia eventually closed their innings with a powerful score of 352/7 after 50 overs.

Rohit Sharma gave India a flying start, using his power to clear the boundaries and put pressure on the bowlers. However, the tactical decision to have Washington Sundar open the batting backfired, as he was dismissed for just 18. A highlight of the match was Glenn Maxwell's incredible one-handed reflex catch to dismiss Rohit for 81. Virat Kohli played a steady hand to reach his 66th ODI fifty, but he couldn't push on for a larger score. While Shreyas Iyer (48) and KL Rahul (26) made some contributions, and Ravindra Jadeja added 35, it wasn't enough to chase down the target.
