India's legendary batting trio—Ravindra Jadeja, Virat Kohli, and Rohit Sharma—call time on their T20I careers

Ravindra Jadeja, one of India's top all-rounders, has decided to retire from T20 internationals after the team secured the World Cup title. He follows in the footsteps of Rohit Sharma and other senior batting stars in leaving the shortest format. The 35-year-old made the announcement public through his official Instagram profile.

Taking to Instagram, Jadeja wrote a heartfelt goodbye to T20Is, stating that he departs with a sense of immense gratitude. He likened his unwavering commitment to India to a steadfast horse galloping with pride, noting that he will continue to give his all in other versions of the game. For him, lifting the T20 World Cup was the ultimate achievement and a dream come true. He closed his message by thanking the supporters for their cheers and loyalty.

For a long time, Jadeja was a key pillar of India's T20I setup, and his all-round contributions were vital during the 2024 season. His batting was particularly impactful in the semi-final against England, where he played a quick, unbeaten cameo of 17 runs from 9 balls. On the bowling side, although he only managed one wicket in the tournament, he remained incredibly difficult to score against, averaging just 7.57 runs per over.

Across 74 T20I appearances for India, Jadeja scored 515 runs in 41 innings, remaining not out in 17 of those outings. Usually slotted into the lower-middle order, he was equally lethal with the ball, ending his T20I career with an impressive economy rate of 7.13 and 54 wickets to his name. While he is finished with T20s, he remains a central figure for India in Test matches and ODIs.
