He noted that Kohli's leadership and tactical use of bowlers and batsmen were key to the victory. The CoA emphasized that rewards should extend beyond the players and support staff to include the selectors, who played a pivotal role in creating a versatile squad capable of handling tough conditions. Diana Edulji, also a CoA member, highlighted that these triumphs in Australia provided essential preparation for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup, occurring just four months later.
