India cruises to a 6-wicket win over West Indies thanks to a brilliant show by Deepti Sharma and Richa Ghosh

With a balanced display of dominant batting and disciplined bowling, the Indian women's side comfortably defeated the West Indies by 6 wickets during their second game of the Women’s T20 World Cup.
Indian Women did really well with their bowling and batting to beat West Indies comprehensively by 6 wickets in their second match of the Women’s T20 World Cup.

India continues its perfect start to the tournament with two consecutive wins. Although chasing 119 felt tense at first, a strong partnership between skipper Harmanpreet Kaur (33) and the youthful Richa Ghosh (44*) ensured victory. Deepti Sharma set the tone earlier in the game with a three-wicket haul.

After choosing to bat, the West Indies lost captain Hayley Matthews for only 2 runs early on. However, the momentum shifted when Stafanie Taylor and Shemaine Campbelle launched a counter-attack, smashing a 73-run stand that troubled the Indian bowlers. India responded sharply, however, triggering a collapse by taking three wickets for just three runs.

The West Indies found themselves in a tight spot at 79/4 after 15 overs, but late efforts from Chedean Nation (21) and Shabika Gajnabi (15) helped them reach a respectable 118/6. The match was also a landmark for Deepti Sharma, who made history as the first Indian player (male or female) to take 100 wickets in T20 Internationals.

India's chase started briskly, with Smriti Mandhana (10) and Shafali Verma (28) adding 32 runs in just 21 balls. The game swung back toward the Windies when India slumped to 43/3 within 7 overs, but Harmanpreet and Ghosh recovered the situation with a 72-run partnership. The match ended on a high note as Richa Ghosh, India's finisher, hit a boundary to secure the win.
