India vs England, 1st Test, Day 2: Rain disrupts play as KL Rahul and James Anderson dominate

The second day of the first Test was shortened by rain. Despite the weather, India's openers provided a sturdy start, with KL Rahul leading the charge through a series of impressive cover drives and authoritative strokes.
The second day of the first test was trimmed due to rain. Indian openers stood steady and played solidly to score runs. KL Rahul dominated the play with his excellent shots and cover drives.

Searching for a breakthrough, England's Joe Root rotated his attack, bringing in Stuart Broad and Sam Curran, though they struggled to make an impact. The breakthrough eventually came via Ollie Robinson, whose short ball lured Rohit Sharma into a hook that flew right to Sam Curran at fine-leg. This gave England their first wicket with India sitting on 97 runs.

Chetesh Pujara entered the fray at number three. He narrowly escaped an early exit after a successful review of an LBW decision, but his luck didn't last long. He was dismissed for only 4 runs when James Anderson bowled a masterclass delivery that caught the edge of the bat and went straight to the wicket-keeper.

The pressure mounted for India as captain Virat Kohli walked out at number four, only to be dismissed for a golden duck. He edged a ball from Anderson, which was just outside the off-stump, straight to Jos Buttler. These two quick breakthroughs by Anderson shifted the game's momentum back in England's favor.

Maintaining his excellent form, KL Rahul managed to reach his 12th half-century. However, England soon claimed another key wicket in Ajinkya Rahane; a lapse in judgment during a run attempt allowed Bairstow to execute a direct hit at the bowler's end, running Rahane out.

James Anderson nearly added another wicket to his tally, but a dropped catch by Sibley in the slips spared KL Rahul from a massive blow. Ultimately, a combination of rain and fading light brought an end to the day's play, with India closing at 125/4.
