India wins a high-scoring battle against South Africa to wrap up the series

India took a commanding 2-0 lead in the three-game series after beating South Africa by 16 runs in a high-scoring second T20I. Despite being chased by a massive target of 238, the Indian bowling unit held on during the final overs. David Miller was the standout for the Proteas, scoring a stunning 106* off 47 deliveries, while Quinton de Kock also remained unbeaten with 69. Arshdeep Singh took two wickets for India, though he conceded 62 runs during his spell.

Temba Bavuma's decision to field first failed to pay off, as India's top four batsmen controlled the game. The opening pair of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul laid a solid base with a 96-run stand. Sharma was out for 43 via Keshav Maharaj, who then trapped Rahul LBW for 57 from 27 balls.

Suryakumar Yadav took control of the momentum, scoring 61 runs and hitting five boundaries and five sixes to ramp up the scoring. He teamed up with Virat Kohli for a blistering third-wicket partnership of 102 runs in just 40 balls. Kohli ended the innings unbeaten on 49, and a brief but aggressive cameo of 17 from Dinesh Karthik helped push India's total to a huge 237/3 after 20 overs.

The Proteas' chase started disastrously, with captain Bavuma and Rilee Rossouw both falling for ducks. Aiden Markram provided some fight but was eventually bowled by Axar Patel for 33. The bulk of the work was done by De Kock and Miller, who shared a massive 174-run partnership for the third wicket, though they ultimately fell short of the target.
