The Delhi Capitals bounced back to victory, defeating Sunrisers Hyderabad by 21 runs at Brabourne Stadium. DC's bowlers stood firm while defending a massive total of 208, keeping SRH to 186/8 in their allotted overs. Nicholas Pooran fought hard with a 62-run knock, but it wasn't enough to secure a win for his team. With this result, DC now sits in fifth position on the leaderboard with 10 points.
Delhi Capitals returned to winning ways by handing a 21-run defeat to Sunrisers Hyderabad at Brabourne Stadium. Defending a mammoth target of 208, DC bowlers did an excellent job to restrict the Orange Army to 186/8 in 20 overs. Nicholas Pooran played a fighting knock of 62-runs but eventually failed to take SRH home. The comprehensive victory has taken DC to the fifth spot on the table with 10 points.
Having been sent in to bat first, DC suffered an early setback when Bhuvneshwar Kumar cleaned up Mandeep Singh for zero. Things didn't get easier immediately, as Sean Abbott dismissed Mitchell Marsh for just 10. In response, Rishabh Pant and David Warner took control of the game with a rapid scoring rate, though Pant's innings ended at 26 when Shreyas Gopal got him out following a flurry of three consecutive sixes.
David Warner was in sublime form, remaining unbeaten on 92 to mark his fourth half-century of the tournament. He found a powerful ally in Rovman Powell, who hammered 67 runs from only 35 deliveries. Together, the pair shared an unbeaten 122-run partnership for the fourth wicket, propelling Delhi Capitals to a formidable total of 207/3.
When it was SRH's turn to bat, the opening partnership of Kane Williamson and Abhishek Sharma failed to ignite. The pair struggled early on, managing only 11 runs combined before both were dismissed during the power-play. Rahul Tripathi provided some minor support with a contribution of 22 runs.
Aiden Markram of South Africa put up a fight with 42 runs, partnering with Pooran for a 60-run stand that kept SRH's hopes alive. Unfortunately, these efforts fell short. Pooran, in particular, seemed to be fighting a lonely battle as he struggled to find consistent support from his teammates.
