Australia Team squad members Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis dropped from the ODI against India in January 2020 series. Instead, Marnus Labuschange, the South-African born Australian cricketer hops will be in the next ODI series.

Thanks to his exceptional batting form, Marnus Labuschagne has climbed to 5th place in the Test rankings with 786 runs, placing him ahead of David Warner, who holds the 7th spot with 755 runs.

The Australian squad assembled for the January 14, 2020, ODI against India is quite intriguing. Led by Aaron Finch, the 14-player group includes several athletes who are highly experienced and comfortable playing on Indian soil.

Captain Aaron Finch noted that Maxwell's recent outing in Hobart against South Africa, where he managed 35 runs from 27 balls, influenced the selection process. Finch mentioned that Maxwell had high expectations for his own scoring. Beyond the stats, the physical and mental toll of being away from home for so long also factored into the decision to drop him for the India series.

Between Jason Behrendorff's injury, Marcus Stoinis's fitness issues, and coach Langer stepping away to recharge before the UAE, World Cup, and Ashes runs, the road ahead looks quite demanding.

Selection chairman Trevor Hohn commented on the strategy, stating that the top order's strong performance during the home T20 series provided a great foundation that they hope to carry into the ODIs in India.
