To prepare for the IPL's resumption, BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla has traveled to the UAE, with Sourav Ganguly, Jay Shah, and Brijesh Patel expected to arrive soon.
Rajeev Shukla stated that they will coordinate with local authorities and the cricket board to build a schedule that allows the tournament to proceed without any hitches, just as it did last season.
The main point of contention is the presence of crowds; Shukla mentioned they will consult with UAE officials and will adhere to whatever decision is made regarding spectators.
Regarding the participation of international stars, Shukla explained that the priority is finishing the season rather than letting it go incomplete. He noted that while available foreign players are welcome, the tournament will proceed regardless of who can make it.
Shukla assured that the tournament will operate in full compliance with the health and vaccine mandates set by both the Indian and UAE governments.
Shukla noted that the remaining games should take about 20 days to complete, making an October 10 finish essential to clear the way for the T20 World Cup. He added that the UAE was selected by the BCCI specifically for its superior facilities and suitable climate.
