South Africa clinched a 5-wicket win over India, rendering Rinku Singh's explosive batting effort meaningless.

An aggressive start from South Africa's top batsmen proved decisive on Tuesday, leading them to a 5-wicket victory in a rain-affected second T20I. They reached the 152-run target in only 13.5 overs, powered by Reeza Hendricks' impressive 49 off 27 deliveries. Aiden Markram contributed a solid 30, while the rest of the lineup maintained a high scoring rate to wrap up the game effortlessly. South Africa now leads the series 1-0, while India aims to bounce back and level the score in the series finale on Thursday, December 14.
Big hitting from South Africa’s top-order batters helped them to beat India by 5 wickets in a rain-hit second T20I on Tuesday. South Africa chased down the target of 152 in just 13.5 overs as its opener Reeza Hendricks played a superb knock of 27-ball 49. The Proteas’ captain Aiden Markram produced a fine cameo of 30 and other batters also scored runs quickly to win the game with ease. South Africa goes ahead in the series (1-0) while India will now look to come back stronger and level it in the final T20I, which will be played on December 14, Thursday.

South Africa's bowlers came out swinging, with Marco Jansen and Lizaad Williams immediately putting India on the back foot by dismissing both Jaiswal and Gill for ducks. India's collapse was halted by Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav, who shared a stabilizing partnership of 49. While Varma was eventually dismissed for 29, Captain Suryakumar managed to push on and score a fifty.

Suryakumar's 56 runs made him the quickest player in history to reach the 2,000-run milestone in T20Is, doing so in 1164 balls. Meanwhile, Rinku Singh delivered a masterclass in aggressive batting, hitting numerous boundaries to secure his first T20I half-century. Rinku remained not out on 68, supported by a quick 19 from Ravindra Jadeja. The game was cut short by rain with only three balls remaining in the final over, leaving India at 180/7 after 19.3 overs.

During the chase, the South African top order—featuring Matthew Breetzke (16), Hendricks, and Markram—absolutely dismantled the Indian bowling attack at St George’s Park. India managed to fight back momentarily by taking the wickets of Hendricks, Markram, and Heinrich Klaasen in quick succession, but it wasn't enough to stop the momentum. South Africa held their nerve to secure the victory.
