With the IPL moving into the playoff phase, the tournament's frenzy is starting to fade. The attention of fans in India is now shifting toward the World Test Championship Final, featuring a clash between India and Australia at the Oval in London from June 7th through the 11th.
Indian Premier League (IPL) cricket fever is going to be over as the tournament has reached the playoffs stage. Once the IPL gets over Indian cricket fans’ focus will turn to the World Test Championship (WTC) Final, where team India will take on Australia. The WTC Final will be played from June 7 to 11 at the Oval, London.
India will be relying heavily on Virat Kohli's performance in the WTC Final to secure the trophy.
However, concerns emerged when Virat seemed to twist his knee while taking a catch in RCB's final league encounter with the Gujarat Titans. For RCB fans, the night was a disappointment as the team failed to make the playoffs, even though Kohli delivered another masterclass century.
After dismissing Vijay Shankar with a catch, the 34-year-old batter had to limp off the pitch. To put fans at ease, RCB head coach Sanjay Bangar clarified that Kohli's fitness for the WTC final isn't in serious jeopardy. He mentioned that it was just a minor niggle and noted how impressive it was for Kohli to score two centuries within a four-day span.
Bangar emphasized that Kohli is a player who gives everything on the field, both with the bat and while fielding. He pointed out that after bowling and fielding for 40 overs a few days prior and another 35 overs in the most recent game, some physical strain was inevitable, but he remains confident it isn't a severe injury.
