The Mumbai Indians cruised to an 8-wicket win against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Wankhede, securing their playoff berth. The victory was fueled by Cameron Green's relentless hitting, as he remained not out on 100 off 47 balls to wrap up the 201-run chase with ease. Rohit Sharma also contributed significantly, scoring 57 runs.
An exhibition of power-hitting from Cameron Green powered Mumbai Indians (MI) to thrash Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 8 wickets at the Wankhede. MI claimed a spot in the playoffs with a comprehensive win. Green played a brutal knock of unbeaten 100 off 47 balls, helping his side to easily chase a big target of 201 with two overs to spare. MI skipper Rohit Sharma too joined the party with a fine knock of 57.
SRH initially dominated the match through a brilliant opening partnership between Vivrant Sharma and Mayank Agarwal, who shared 140 runs. Their rapid scoring put MI under immense pressure. The deadlock was finally broken in the 14th over when Akash Madhwal dismissed Vivrant for 69.
Madhwal then got rid of Agarwal, who finished with a superb 83. A double-strike in the second-to-last over further dampened SRH's hopes. Although SRH seemed destined for a 220+ total, Madhwal and Chris Jordan tightened the screws to limit them to 200/5.
MI's run chase got off to a rocky start after Bhuvneshwar Kumar took the wicket of Ishan Kishan (14) in the third over. However, Cameron Green immediately took charge, dominating the SRH attack. The Australian star shared a 128-run partnership with Rohit Sharma, while Suryakumar Yadav finished the game unbeaten on 25.
Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bangalore's playoff dreams ended with a 6-wicket defeat to the Gujarat Titans in their final league game. Despite Virat Kohli scoring his second hundred of the campaign, RCB's bowling attack couldn't protect a target of 197.
