The ICC released its T20I Team of the Year for both the men's and women's circuits this Monday. The selections highlight the players who left the biggest mark on the sport in 2022 across all disciplines. For India, the men's side is represented by a strong trio: Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday, revealed the T20I team of the Year for both men’s and women’s cricket. Players who have impressed the cricket world with their batting, bowling, and all-round exploits in 2022, have found their spots in the respective teams. Former India captain Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya are the three Indian players who made the cut in the Playing XI of the men’s team of the Year.

Virat Kohli earned his spot back in the ICC's annual team after a stellar performance at the T20 World Cup. He was the tournament's leading run-scorer with 296 runs and four half-centuries, including a career-defining, unbeaten 82 in a high-pressure clash against Pakistan.

Suryakumar Yadav's dominance in 2022 led to his nomination for the ICC Men's T20I Cricketer of the Year. He ended the calendar year as the top run-getter in T20Is, racking up 1164 runs. His versatile 360-degree batting style allowed him to maintain an incredible strike rate of 187.43, and his record of 68 sixes is the highest ever achieved by a player in a single year.

Hardik Pandya proved his worth as a premier all-rounder, contributing significantly with both bat and ball for India, tallying 607 runs and claiming 20 wickets. On the women's side, Smriti Mandhana secured a place in the ICC team, joined by fellow Indian stars Deepti Sharma, Richa Ghosh, and Renuka Singh.
