Tilak Varma beats Gambhir's record as Suryakumar joins a prestigious group of players

After a rocky start in Guyana, Team India recovered to beat the West Indies by 7 wickets. Although the chase of 160 began poorly with the quick wickets of Gill and Jaiswal, the match was salvaged by the brilliance of Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma. These two, who embody the modern T20 spirit, dominated the game and gave the fans a night to remember.
Team India pulled things back to defeat the West Indies by 7 wickets in Guyana. Chasing 160, Men in Blue have jolted early again, with openers Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal falling early, but unlike the previous two games, two batters who personify T20 batting, Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma took center stage and made it a night to remember for the Indian fans.

A vital 87-run partnership between the two put India in a winning position. Suryakumar played a blistering knock, scoring 83 from 44 deliveries with 10 fours and four sixes, while the young Tilak Varma showed great composure, finishing unbeaten on 49. Their efforts resulted in some remarkable statistical achievements.

With a total of 139 runs from his first three matches (39, 51, and 49), Tilak Varma has moved into second place for the most T20I runs by an Indian in their first three innings. He has officially passed Gautam Gambhir's 2007 World Cup record of 109 runs. Currently, Deepak Hooda leads this category after his standout performances against Ireland and Sri Lanka. Furthermore, Tilak has become one of only two Indian batsmen to maintain a score of 30 or more in his first three outings.

Suryakumar was in equally devastating form. By launching Romario Shepherd's slower ball for his third six of the game, he became the joint second-fastest player in T20I history to reach a specific milestone. Now tied with Chris Gayle and trailing only Evin Lewis in terms of innings (49), the world's top-ranked T20 batter is also the quickest Indian to ever hit 100 sixes in T20 Internationals.
