Liverpool earns a critical win against West Ham

Liverpool secured a 3-1 win against West Ham on Sunday, thanks to two brilliant goals from Salah in the second half. The victory broke a worrying trend for Jurgen Klopp's team, who had failed to win any of their last five outings while Manchester City continued their dominance with eight straight wins.

Despite a growing list of injuries, including a recent muscle issue for Sadio Mane, Liverpool is still very much in the fight. Even though they trail City by four points in third place and have played an additional match, the Reds cannot be counted out of the title race.

By winning, Liverpool climbed above Leicester City in the standings; Leicester dropped to fourth after losing 3-1 at home to Leeds United. At the same time, Tottenham fell to sixth place after being shut out 1-0 by Brighton.

Following the game, Salah remarked that the path to the league title requires winning every single match. He pointed out that City also faced difficulties a few games back, suggesting that relentless winning is the only way to claim the Premier League trophy.

Although Salah netted two goals in the FA Cup match against Manchester United last weekend, the team ultimately lost. Furthermore, the Egyptian had struggled to score in his previous six league appearances—a drought he hadn't experienced since early 2019. After the West Ham game, Salah expressed his dislike for VAR, claiming the technology strips the joy from the sport, though it fortunately didn't interfere with his clinical performance at the Olympic Stadium.
After the game against West Ham Salah commented on VAR saying the technology kills the joy of football and that he is not a fan of it. But at the Olympic Stadium, the VAR did not hinder his brilliant run.

Salah's first goal in the 57th minute was a trademark piece of brilliance. Cutting in from the right wing with his signature agility, he maneuvered past defenders before curling a precise shot into the far corner, leaving the West Ham keeper with no chance.

His second goal arrived in the 68th minute, assisted by Xherdan Shaqiri. Salah showed great composure, controlling the ball with his right foot before quickly shifting it to his left to slot it home.
