Jay Shah appointed as the new head of the Asian Cricket Council

The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has elected Jay Shah as its new chairman. Shah, who previously served as the BCCI secretary, takes over the position from Najmul Hasan of the Bangladesh Cricket Board.

At 32, Jay Shah has become the youngest administrator to ever hold the presidency of the Asian Cricket Council, following a virtual vote during the Annual General Meeting.

During the AGM, Jay Shah accepted the appointment, thanking the BCCI for nominating him for such a prestigious role. He acknowledged the ACC's rapid growth in its mission to organize and promote the sport, urging a collective effort to ensure cricket develops in every aspect across the region.

Sourav Ganguly, the head of the BCCI, took to Twitter to congratulate Jay Shah on his appointment as the new ACC President.

Drawing on their history of working together, Ganguly expressed his certainty that Shah will successfully elevate the game. He praised Shah's track record in improving cricket's ecosystem and infrastructure in Chandigarh, Uttarakhand, and the Northeast. Ganguly ended his message by pledging the BCCI's full support, promising the necessary resources to help Shah restructure and revitalize cricket activities throughout Asia.
