This goal put Liverpool ahead 4-2 on aggregate, a lead they would protect until the end. The final blow came courtesy of another Rulli mistake; the keeper wandered too far from his goal, allowing Sadio Mane to intercept the ball and slot it into an empty net to seal the win.
The 2018-19 champions are now heading to Paris, where they will face either Real Madrid or Manchester City. Under Jurgen Klopp, this current squad has been an offensive powerhouse in the 2021-22 campaign, netting a club-record 139 goals across 57 matches.
