Coming off a disappointing FA Cup final defeat to Liverpool, Chelsea found themselves trailing early when James Maddison scored in the 6th minute. The goal originated from a long ball by Kasper Schmeichel to Timothy Castagne; a deflected pass then fell perfectly for Maddison, who curled a precise shot past Edouard Mendy.
