Southampton FC dismisses manager Mark Hughes

Following eight months at the helm, Mark Hughes has been relieved of his duties at Southampton FC due to a persistent lack of results. The numbers tell a bleak story: out of 22 games managed by Hughes, the team lost 19. Consequently, Southampton currently sits in 18th place in the Premier League standings, failing to move up despite a hard-fought draw with Manchester United. The club appears to be in a downward spiral, struggling to find any consistency after appointing four different managers over the last two years. Until Wednesday, Kelvin Davis will step in to lead the side, managing the squad for their game against Tottenham and likely addressing the media at the training facility. Hughes leaves behind a disappointing 13.6% win rate, leaving the management, the squad, and the supporters thoroughly dissatisfied with the direction of the club.
