Himanshu Singh steered the Tamil Thalaivas to a dramatic win over the Patna Pirates, rescuing the team from the brink of defeat.

The Tamil Thalaivas spent a large portion of the match chasing the Patna Pirates, struggling to seize control. That changed when Himanshu Singh stepped up with an incredible performance, powering his team to a hard-fought 33-32 comeback victory at the Shree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru. It was a high-pressure game where the Thalaivas managed to keep their composure to secure their first win of PKL Season 9, largely due to Himanshu's clinical and timely Super 10.

This result pushes the Tamil Thalaivas up to eighth in the standings with a total of 10 points. Meanwhile, the Patna Pirates continue to struggle, sitting at the very bottom without a single win this season. The Thalaivas' effort was spearheaded by Himanshu, who tallied 8 raid points and 3 bonuses, alongside Narender Hoshiyar's 9-point contribution. The Pirates' best effort came from Rohit Gulia, who racked up 11 points, with Sachin contributing another 6.

Early on, Narender's successful raids gave the Tamil Thalaivas a 6-3 lead by the 9th minute. However, this lead was short-lived as Gulia executed a multi-point raid to bring the score to a 6-6 deadlock. The Thalaivas regained a slight edge in the 14th minute when Himanshu pulled off a brilliant raid, putting them ahead 10-8.

The momentum shifted quickly when the Pirates managed an ALL-OUT, flipping the score to 13-10 in their favor. Although Narender continued to score points for the Thalaivas, the Pirates maintained their pressure, holding a slim 17-15 lead as the first 20 minutes wrapped up.

In the second half, Rohit Gulia remained in top form, helping the Pirates widen the gap to 21-16. Patna continued to dominate the pace of the match with a series of sharp raids, eventually triggering another ALL-OUT in the 26th minute to take a comfortable 26-21 lead. But the Thalaivas refused to quit; Himanshu delivered a critical two-point touch in a high-stakes Do-or-Die raid in the 37th minute, bringing the game to a 29-29 tie.

Shortly after, the Tamil Thalaivas executed an ALL-OUT of their own, leaping ahead 32-30. Gulia managed to sneak in a bonus to bring the deficit down to a single point, but the drama ended in the final minute when Aashish successfully tackled Gulia, sealing the thrilling victory for the Thalaivas.
