Armenia entered the final round as a formidable opponent and beat Spain 2.5 – 1.5, yet they finished with the silver medal after losing out to Uzbekistan on a tie-break. India’s ‘B’ team took third place with 18 points, marking the second time they've secured a bronze medal since their 2014 success.

Starting the tournament as the 11th seed, India’s ‘B’ team finished strong with a 3-1 win against Germany. The result was driven by wins from Nihal Sarin and Raunak Sadhwani, while GMs D Gukesh and R Praggnanandhaa each earned draws. This tournament served as a breakthrough for these young Indian stars, who showcased exceptional form to earn their first Olympiad medals.

Over in the women's division, Ukraine achieved a poignant victory, taking the gold after a 3-1 win against Poland on the final day. This success was anchored by key performances from Anna Ushenina and Mariya Muzychuk. Georgia secured the silver medal with a decisive 3-1 win over Azerbaijan, while India’s ‘A’ team rounded out the podium in third place.

Despite being the top seeds, the Indian women's team suffered a disappointing 1-3 loss to the U.S. in the 11th round. Koneru Humpy and WGM R Vaishali managed to draw their games against Gulrukhba Tokhirjonova and Irina Krush, but losses by Bhakti Kulkarni and Tania Sachdev to Tatev Abrahamyan and Carissa Yip effectively ended India's hopes for the gold.

While P Harikrishna and Vidit Santosh Gujrathi drew their respective matches against Wesley So and Fabiano Caruana, Arjun Erigaisi provided a highlight by defeating the higher-rated Leiner Dominguez Perez in 49 moves. However, a loss by S.L. Narayanan to Sam Shankland left India ‘A’ in fourth place.
