
Prospective head coaches must have spent at least two years leading a Test-playing nation, or three years working with an IPL franchise, an 'A' team, or an associate member. Furthermore, the candidate needs a solid playing background, having appeared in either 30 Tests or 50 ODIs.
The same basic standards apply to the batting, bowling, and fielding coaches, with the exception of the playing experience. For these specialized roles, the minimum requirement is 10 Test matches or 25 ODIs, and they must also be under 60 years old.
Following the conclusion of the World Cup, the existing coaching team—which includes Ravi Shastri, Bharat Arun, Sanjay Bangar, and R Sridhar—had their contracts extended by 45 days.
