With a 25-run victory over the Gujarat Giants, the Delhi Capitals have now won three matches in a row.

The Delhi Capitals dominated the Gujarat Giants on Sunday, winning by 25 runs behind Meg Lanning's impressive fifty and Jess Jonassen's strategic spin bowling. The Giants found the chase of 164 daunting, as early collapses left them reeling. Despite Ashleigh Gardener fighting back with 40 runs, the Giants suffered their fourth consecutive defeat. This victory propels the Capitals to the top of the league table, marking their third win on the bounce.
Delhi Capitals captain Meg Lanning’s brilliant fifty and a cunning spell from spinner Jess Jonassen guided their side to a comfortable 25-run victory over Gujarat Giants on Sunday. Chasing a competitive 164, the Giants never found their momentum going as they lost early wickets. Despite Ashleigh Gardener’s fine knock of 40, the Giants crashed to their fourth defeat on the bounce. Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, propelled to the top of the table with six points, registering their third win on the trot.

After the Giants elected to bowl first, Meg Lanning used her experience to drive the scoring rate through steady partnerships. The innings began with a burst of aggression from Shafali Verma, who hit a six and a four for 13 runs before being dismissed. Lanning then teamed up with the in-form Alice Capsey to build a solid 38-run partnership, leaving Delhi at 51/1 after the powerplay. However, Meghna Singh proved to be a major threat for the Giants.

Meghna Singh broke the second-wicket stand by taking the wicket of Capsey for 27. Lanning continued to anchor the innings, adding 47 runs with Jemimah Rodrigues before Meghna finally dismissed her. The Australian captain reached her fifty in 39 balls but was caught by Hemalatha while attempting a slash. As Delhi tried to accelerate toward the end, they lost wickets frequently, though a quick 20 from Annabel Sutherland helped them finish at 163/8.

The Giants' pursuit of the target started poorly when Shikha Pandey dismissed Laura Wolvaardt for a duck. There was a brief moment of hope as Beth Mooney and Phoebe Litchfield accelerated in the fourth over, but Jess Jonassen shut them down quickly, removing both Mooney (12) and Litchfield (15) in the fifth. From there, the Giants continued to lose wickets at regular intervals until the match slipped away.
