Suresh Raina, often called 'Mr. IPL,' will provide his insights as part of a celebrity expert panel that also features legends like Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers, Anil Kumble, Eoin Morgan, RP Singh, Murali Karthik, and Scott Styris. Out of the 991 initial applicants, only 405 players made the final cut—273 from India and 132 from abroad. These players will compete for a limited number of openings, specifically 87 slots, 30 of which are designated for international stars.
The total funds available for all teams combined is Rs.206.5 crore. Sunrisers Hyderabad holds the strongest financial position with Rs.42.25 crore, whereas the Kolkata Knight Riders have the tightest budget at Rs.7.05 crore. While the player pool is deep, the real focus will be on three high-profile targets: Ben Stokes, Cameron Green, and Sam Curran.
Cameron Green has already become a major topic of conversation. The 23-year-old Australian all-rounder is known for his aggressive hitting and left a strong impression during his T20I series against India. Although he has yet to play in the IPL, he is expected to make a splash in his debut season. Since his T20I debut against Pakistan earlier this year, he has appeared in 8 matches, accumulating 178 runs with a solid average of 35.60.
Another marquee name is England's Ben Stokes, the mastermind behind his country's World Cup triumphs. Starting with a base price of Rs 2 crore, his final price tag could easily skyrocket to between Rs.7 and 10 crore. Even though he sat out the 2022 season, his recent form makes him one of the most desirable players in the room. His IPL track record includes 43 matches, where he scored 920 runs and took 28 wickets.
