RCB claimed a resounding win over the Punjab Kings, fueled by a breathtaking performance from Virat Kohli

A sharp and disciplined Royal Challengers Bengaluru side earned a key victory, ensuring they remain in the race for the playoffs. In a match held in Dharamsala, Virat Kohli was the standout performer, guiding RCB to a 60-run win over PBKS. He played a blistering innings of 92 from 47 balls, hitting 7 fours and 6 sixes to quiet the home crowd. His impact wasn't limited to the bat, as he also produced a brilliant piece of fielding with a direct hit to dismiss the dangerous Shashank Singh.
Clinical Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) secured a crucial win to keep themselves in the hunt for a playoff position. Indian star batter Virat Kohli starred in RCB’s dominant 60-run win over Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Dharamsala. Kohli silenced the home crowd with a stunning knock of 47-ball 92, smacking 7 fours and 6 sixes. Kohli was electrifying on the field as he pulled off a spectacular direct hit to dismiss the home side’s one of the best batters, Shashank Singh.

After being asked to bat first, RCB stumbled early on when Vidhwath Kaverappa took the wickets of Faf du Plessis and Will Jacks for 9 and 12 in back-to-back overs. However, the momentum shifted as Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar built a rapid partnership. Patidar, currently in peak form, hammered several sixes, while Kohli reached his half-century. In doing so, Kohli surpassed 1,000 career runs against PBKS, making history as the first IPL player to achieve this milestone against three different franchises.

Rajat Patidar eventually fell after a blistering 55, scored at a staggering strike rate of 239.13. Supported by a vital 46 from Cameron Green and Kohli's steady presence at the crease, RCB managed to set a formidable target of 241/7 in their 20 overs. For Punjab, Harshal Patel was the lone bright spot, claiming three wickets.

Tasked with a daunting target of 242, PBKS got off to a poor start with the early loss of Prabhsimran Singh, though Jonny Bairstow and Rilee Rossouw briefly shifted the momentum with a quick 65-run stand. Bairstow (27) was eventually dismissed by Lockie Ferguson just before the powerplay ended. Rilee Rossouw kept the hope alive with an aggressive 61 off 27 balls before he was caught out. With Jitesh Sharma and Liam Livingstone failing to contribute, the effort from Shashank (37) and Sam Curran (22) wasn't enough. RCB's bowlers remained relentless, taking wickets at regular intervals to bowl PBKS out for 181.
